We log a set of data for every site that we host and serve on our platform. A lot of this data has traditionally been hidden from view, but we’ve officially opened the Daily Weblogs of all your sites.
If you’ve been wondering about the stats your site is throwing out, say the difference between cached objects and non-cached objects served every day, now you can download the stats as a .CSV from any of your sites hosted on WP Engine. The data can be manipulated and analyzed however you choose, for example adding it to Excel or Google Spreadsheets (your call) to analyze.
If you’re running other statistics software elsewhere, you’ll be able to upload the .CSV files to that application and generate the sorts of graphs you need.
To get the .CSV of the data, log in to the User Portal, my.wpengine.com, and click over to the Installs section, click the installation you would like to get more data for, and then select the link titled “Download Usage CSV” to generate a download of your data.
The CSV will display 11 columns of data for you to feast upon. The headers are relatively self-explanatory, but here’s a cheat-sheet for you guys, just in case.
The headers (and their data) in the .CSV are the following:
- tstamp – The date corresponding to the site activity. (If your .CSV file misses certain dates, you may not have received traffic)
- customer_id – your unique customer number
- cluster – the cluster of servers where your site is hosted
- visitors – The number of unique visitors to your site on a particular date. For more, check out “How we count visits.”
- objects_served_directly – Objects served directly from the server backend, not cached
- objects_served_cdn- Cached objects served via the CDN
- gb_served_directly – GB from our servers, cached or otherwise. Versus from the CDN.
- gb_served_cdn – Total gigabytes of cached objects served from the CDN
- gb_total – All the gigabytes served, direct + cached objects from the CDN
- uncached_dynamic_hits – Dynamically-created content served directly, not served from cache
- backend_server_processing_hours – Amount of server time used on that date

The CDN has actually never been included with the personal plan since the beginning. It’s included on the Pro plan, but we understand that many times our customers don’t need to invest that much in hosting so we make the CDN available on the personal plan for $19 a month. It’s definitely an added feature that makes a lot of sense for high-traffic sites, and that’s a cheaper price than many people would be able to get on their own, since we are able to buy large amounts of bandwidth to serve our customers.
