Yesterday, EY announced that WP Engine’s CEO Heather Brunner, along with CTO and co-founder Jason Cohen have been named finalists for the Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2017 Award in Central Texas for the second straight year. One of the world’s most prestigious business awards programs for entrepreneurs, the awards program recognizes entrepreneurs who are excelling in areas like innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.
Since its inception in 2010, WP Engine has seen rapid growth. In 2016 alone, the company grew to 400 employees, opened a new office in Limerick, Ireland, and now has more than 60,000 customers who’ve entrusted us by placing their site on our digital experience platform.
“What we do is allow businesses of all sizes to take advantage of a technology that is open-source and free by building a technology platform and a service-delivery platform that makes it easy for customers to build really compelling, high-performing websites in a cost-effective way [and] get insights and intelligence from their websites,” said Heather Brunner in a recent interview with Austin Woman.
Stay tuned for the award winners, who will be chosen by a select panel of judges and announced at a special gala event on June 9, 2017 at the JW Marriott in downtown Austin.
Over the course of its 31 years of existence, the EY program has expanded to recognize business leaders in over 145 cities and more than 60 countries globally. Regional award winners are eligible to advance for the Entrepreneur Of The Year National competition.
Award winners in several national categories, as well as the Entrepreneur Of The Year National Overall Award winner, will be announced at the Entrepreneur Of The Year National Awards gala in Palm Springs, California, on November 18, 2017. The awards are the culminating event of EY’s Strategic Growth Forum, the nation’s most prestigious gathering of high-growth, market-leading companies.
