WP Engine offers several tools geared toward improving your site performance. Two of these tools are featured in your User Portal, under the Intelligence section. In this article we will explain how to use the Page Performance and Content Performance tools in your User Portal.
Page Performance
Page Performance is a page testing tool that analyzes your site’s speed and cacheability, and offers suggestions to improve performance. The tool offers a film strip showing which elements of the page loaded at what time, and allows the ability to schedule recurring tests to ensure your performance doesn’t dip over time. Page Performance is available for free use on all plan types.
Trigger a test of your live domain, and you will receive an email when it is complete. You can view the test from Intelligence > Page Performance:
Here you will see the cache score (higher is better), any recommendations, and quick stats showing start and finish render times. Click “View full test” to see the recommendations, as well as the film strip.

Content Performance
Content Performance is a paid add-on option for all plans. It works as a plugin in your WordPress Admin Dashboard, and aggregates raw data from Google Analytics with WordPress data to provide easy, actionable insights for your content creators. With a simple click of a button, you can see your top posts, pages, categories, tags, and even authors. The plugin also allows you to view trends over time, and traffic sources for each post. Last, exporting month-over-month or year-over-year data is simple with the Export CSV option. The data is simple and easy to use for your content team, and helps inform your content strategy.
To learn more about all the features of the Content Performance plugin, see About Content Performance. The Content Performance add-on can be added or configured from Intelligence > Content Performance for each of your production environments.
