A SXSW Oasis in Downtown Austin
Imagine an oasis in the heart of SXSW, a retreat where people can sneak away from the crowds, unwind, grab a cocktail, and spark up a deep conversation.
Last Saturday, WP Engine partnered with Gigaom to present Oasix, an event aimed at capturing that spirit!
From a bright, but intimate, creative environment to wonderful thought leaders—the event aimed to inspire, connect, and provoke discussions about our digital future.
Thought Provoking Presentations
Gigaom’s Stacey Higginbotham was joined on the couch by Joe Zadeh, the Head of Product at Airbnb to talk about a range of technology issues, including the growth of Airbnb.
Shaun Abrahamson, the author of Crowdstorm, discussed crowdfunding—including his advice for tapping into the abundant ideas and talent that lie outside your organization.

Our very own Tomas Puig, Director of Marketing, gave the audience some tips on the use of Brand Peering—the idea that brands can use the network effect to increase their relevancy or reach.
Thanks for Joining Us!
Over 90 people from a number of companies came to Oasix, which we hosted at the WP Engine headquarters in downtown Austin. We were thrilled to be able to open up our space to welcome friends from near and far who were in town for SXSW.
