WP Engine Appoints Annette Alexander As Its First Chief People Officer

WP Engine 3.31.2017

Role to help deliver on a vision that embraces differences, learning, growth and opportunity for every employee

AUSTIN, Texas — March 31, 2017 — WP Engine, the world’s leading WordPress digital experience platform, today announced the appointment of Annette Alexander to the company’s new role of Chief People Officer. Annette will lead all strategic vision and oversight for human resources and company culture across the Employee Experience, Learning & Development, Recruiting and IT/Facilities teams worldwide. The establishment of the role comes as WP Engine continues its expansion opening an office in Limerick, Ireland last September and growing its employee base by almost 25 percent last year and looks to further build on its award-winning culture. She joins the executive team at WP Engine’s headquarters in Austin, Texas.

Annette is an accomplished human resources executive with over 15 years of experience in finding and cultivating talent for companies in the ecommerce, financial services, industrial engineering, and technology industries. During her career, she has cultivated an impressive track record of successfully building and leading global HR teams.

“A core cultural tenet at WP Engine is where the best gets better which helps drive our strategic business priority of being a ‘workplace of choice’,” said Heather Brunner, CEO of WP Engine. “We’re thrilled to have Annette join and help advance our cultural foundation so that we continue to identify, attract and grow the talent we need to drive enterprise value.”

Prior to WP Engine, Annette was Vice President of Human Resources at RetailMeNot in Austin where she led all human resources activities for the ecommerce company. Prior to RetailMeNot, she held senior leadership positions in Europe and the U.K. for global companies such as PayPal, Danaher, Barclays and at Dell, where she was instrumental in launching the company’s office in Scotland.

“I’m excited to join WP Engine as we continue our global growth and expansion,” said Annette Alexander, CPO of WP Engine. “Building a strong and inclusive culture, one where each employee understands how they impact the business and how they can grow their careers will be a competitive advantage. I look forward to working with all our employees to infuse our culture and values into everything we do and build upon our reputation as a great place to work.”
