In this blog series, we talk to WP Engine employees to learn more about their roles, the city they work in, what it’s like to work for WP Engine, and more! Read our latest interview below:
What’s your role at WP Engine?
My role at WP Engine is New Business Acquisition with SMB Sales.
Can you describe a typical day in your role?
One of the reasons I love WP Engine and my job is because every day is different. I interact with customers and potential customers on a daily basis—so you really get to know the people you’re serving and understand their needs. Sometimes that’s spent on the phone, sometimes they’re face-to-face meetings.
It’s really exciting to work with clients and discuss how the WP Engine platform can help them succeed and reach their business goals. Every story, every customer, and every website is different.
I also get the chance to attend industry events and exhibitions, so I get to see our team in action and interact with customers and prospects. Working the booth is a blast — happy customers constantly pop by and tell you how much they love WP Engine.
What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is the knowing that the solution we provide really works. It feels great to have a customer come back and say that they are amazed with our service and we truly delivered on all of our promises.
You recently visited the states for WP Engine’s “All-Hands” week, a bi-annual event where all of its employees come together at the Austin headquarters. How was that experience?
Amazing! It’s great to able to come over to the headquarters regularly and socialise with the teams that we collaborate with on a daily basis. WP Engine makes a massive effort to keep the London office included in meetings through video conferencing, but it’s good to be able to say thank you in person!
All-Hands is great with employees being awarded for their hard work and our leadership team informing us of what’s to come. You leave feeling like WP Engine truly values their staff. Austin is a great city, it’s known as the live music capital of the world and also is a city full of foodies, so lots of great places to eat!
