With the announcement of our Mercury HHVM Enterprise WordPress project in November, we’ve been incredibly excited about the possibilities. Despite overwhelming potential, however, not all projects on HHVM run perfectly yet.
So before the great @JJJ (John James Jacoby) kicks off the new year with a big project focused on the development and maintenance of BuddyPress, bbPRess, and GlotPress, we are sponsoring him to help us bring BuddyPress into the HHVM world!
For the month of December, John will work closely with the WP Engine Labs team and 10up to make the experience for performant BuddyPress on HHVM a reality.
JJJ is the project lead for BuddyPress & bbPress. He is also an adamant WordPress contributor, BackPress supporter, public speaker, educator, open-source advocate, cranky driver, and puppy whisperer. Check out John’s Indiegogo campaign here and, if you can, donate to the future of open source BuddyPress.
Tomas Puig is the head of Labs for WP Engine. His career started at NASA Ames Research Center where he worked on computer security and web development.
