That’s why we’re excited to introduce three new data centers for our Shared and Premium plans via GCP: London, Sydney, and Frankfurt! The opening of these new data center regions extends WP Engine’s cloud coverage around the globe and enables enterprise-grade performance for customers of all sizes, from those on a Personal plan all the way up to custom Enterprise plans.

Google Cloud Platform testing shows up to 95% reduction in round-trip time latency for customers in Australian cities serving visitors from the Sydney data center, compared to data centers in Taiwan. Customers in London, Dublin, and Edinburgh are seeing up to 82% reduction in latency by switching from a Belgium-based data center to London. This level of performance improvement resulting from running workloads through the closest data center region has a significant impact on site visitor experience and can improve SEO and conversion rates through faster load times. The expanded data center availability through two leading cloud infrastructure brands GCP and AWS enables WP Engine customers to run their WordPress sites and applications, and store data within the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, Germany, Ireland, Belgium, Taiwan, and Japan. This offers our customers more options to reduce latency for domestic site visitors and more control over the location in which their data is stored and processed. With PHP 7 support available for these data centers, customers are armed with greater potential to optimize their site performance on the WP Engine platform.
