There are times we need to contact someone about your WP Engine account, whether it’s for critical security information, maintenance notifications, server migrations, or DNS updates.
To help ensure we’re reaching out to the correct person, we’re launching Technical Install Contacts, a new feature in the User Portal where you can quickly see the person or group we’d reach out to for a specific install in the event that something arises. Technical Install Contacts is available now to all WP Engine customers via the User Portal. Think of it as a list of emergency contacts for your website.
We built this new feature based on your feedback–you’ve reached out to us and let us know who we should contact when we have critical communications about your WordPress sites.
The new Technical Install Contacts page allows account owners to manage and change who we contact when there are technical changes to a site. Please note that only account owners can edit Technical Install Contacts, however anyone with User Portal access can see the technical contact information for installs for which they have been granted access.
Technical Install Contacts don’t necessarily have to be User Portal users, they may just be someone you trust to be notified of technical issues. Your contact can also be an email distribution list.
Our goal is to ensure we’re reaching the right people when we have updates. Please take the time to look at your Technical Install Contacts list and ensure the correct person or distribution list is included for each of your WordPress sites.
We recommend all WP Engine account owners please take a few minutes to review and update your Install Technical Contacts.
