WooConf 2016 wrapped up today! The three day event was saturated with ecommerce specific speeches and many networking opportunities. Here’s a recap of WooConf in photos:
WooConf 2016 was held in Austin April 6 through April 8 at the world famous ACL Live at Moody Theater and the connecting W Austin Hotel.
The ACL Live steps received a WooCommerce makeover.
Are you ready to Woo? The WooConf setup was ready for its two day-long selections of presentations from more than 40 speakers.
In the event’s opening remarks, WooCommerce Chief Business Development Officer Joel Bronkowski shows the audience where WooConf attendees traveled from to get to Austin. (Ninety Texans were at the conference out of nearly 400 guests.)
WordPress Founder and Automattic CEO Matt Mullenweg surprised the audience, sporting a new green hairdo during his State of the Woo speech.

“Our digital strategy is nothing less than our customer strategy” said WP Engine CEO Heather Brunner in her speech on the future of content and commerce.
“Gone are the days where you only sell things on your own website or app. In the future people are going to be selling their goods and services in other areas,” said Juan Benitez, CTO of Braintree. He used Pinterest as an example — 87 percent of Pinners have purchased something because of Pinterest, making it a desirable ecommerce solution for selling your products outside your own website.
“Shipping is the No. 1 reason for cart abandonment,” said Shippo Founder and CEO Laura Behrens Wu in her WooConf speech. According to Wu, 58 percent of of customers will abandon cart if shipping costs make the total purchase more than expected.
In his speech on building an online training business with WooCommerce, Bob Dunn, aka BobWP, discussed different ways to think out-of-the-box with WooCommerce through creativity and simplicity. “Ecommerce is not just products,” said Dunn.
