In the event that you lost your phone, you will need to use your 2 Factor Authentication recovery codes in order to access your User Portal.
This is very easy to do. Follow these instructions to gain access to your User Portal:
- Go to https://my.wpengine.com and log in with your username and password
- Click the “Lost My Phone” link
- Enter your recovery code

If you do not have your recovery codes, please call support and we’ll use other methods of identifying you. Once identified, we will disable 2 Factor Authentication and grant you login access.
Codes Not Working?
If you see a message that “Your authentication code was incorrect” when entering your code from the Google Authenticator plugin on an Android device, it might be caused by an issue of the app’s time being out of sync with the device. To fix this, follow these steps from Google’s Authenticator Common Issues article below:
- Go to the main menu on the Google Authenticator app
- Click Settings
- Click Time correction for codes
- Click Sync now
This should resolve any issues with codes being out of sync, and causing them to not be accepted by the 2FA.
