Who is impacted by this change?
A: All WP Engine customers will now have bots removed from their billable visits calculations.
Why did we make a change to billable visits policy?
A: At WP Engine, we make it a priority to listen to our customers’ feedback. Many of you have let us know you’d like to see this change, and we’ve listened and responded!
When will this change be effective?
A: We will stop billing for bot traffic starting October 13; your billing statement will still reflect overage charges based on bot traffic incurred through October 12.
Where can I view the current tally of billable visits for this month?
A: We have updated the user portal to display counts for the new billable visits without bot traffic, as well as total visits which include bots. As before, you will see a warning message display in the plan usage box if you are on track to exceed, or have already exceeded your monthly total. In addition, the monthly usage reports will be updated on the date of your next billing period to reflect the new billable visits without bot traffic. Historical monthly usage reports will still reflect the inclusion of bot traffic.
How do we calculate visits?
A: Please see the following Support Garage article for a detailed explanation of how visits are calculated: http://wpengine.com/blog/visitors/
What bots are included in your list?
A: We cover a broad list of most of the most commonly known bots. This list is updated on a frequent basis.
Who can I contact if I have questions about my bill / this policy?
A: For questions about these changes, please contact WP Engine Support who will put you in contact with our billing team.
