User Portal User Role Differences

In the WP Engine User Portal you can create users and assign them different roles.

Please note that to maintain the integrity of each of our customer account’s security the WP Engine Support team cannot create Users in the User Portal.

Below is an outline of these roles:

Access to all environments on an account

Owner: This role has access to everything in the User Portal, including the ability to delete sites, move sites to other accounts, close an account, and remove users from the account. In reference to a Transferable Install (Personal, Professional, Business plans) or Transferable Environment (Startup, Growth, Scale plans) this role can initiate and accept transfers, as well as promote to a standard environment.

Full (with billing): This role cannot delete sites, move sites to other accounts, close an account, or remove users from the User Portal. However, this role can access the Billing section of the User Portal. In reference to a Transferable Install (Personal, Professional, Business plans) or Transferable Environment (Startup, Growth, Scale plans) this role can initiate and accept transfers, as well as promote to a standard environment.

Full (no billing): This role has the same limitations as “Full (with billing)” but cannot access the Billing section of the User Portal. In reference to a Transferable Install (Personal, Professional, Business plans) or Transferable Environment (Startup, Growth, Scale plans) this role can accept transfers.

Access to select environments on an account

Partial (with billing): This role has all the limitations of “Full (billing)” but cannot create or copy WordPress environments. This role can modify an environment that has been designated by the Owner and access the Billing section of the User Portal. In reference to a Transferable Install (Personal, Professional, Business plans) or Transferable Environment (Startup, Growth, Scale plans) this role can initiate a transfer and promote to a standard environment for all environments designated.

Partial (no billing): This role has all the limitations of “Full (no billing)” but cannot create or copy WordPress environments. This role can only modify an environment that has been designated by the Owner. This role can perform no actions in reference to a Transferable Install (Personal, Professional, Business plans) or Transferable Environment (Startup, Growth, Scale plans).
