When enabling add-ons purchased with your WP Engine plan, there are some additional steps needed to begin using these additions. In this article we will explain how to add each available add-on to your WP Engine plan. To learn how to remove add-ons you have previously purchased, please see Removing your WP Engine Add-Ons.
Enabling Additional Sites
If you have purchased additional sites for your WP Engine plan, your User Portal is automatically aware of the new site limit. All you have to do to enable additional sites is to add the new sites as needed from your Sites page in your User Portal.
Simply click “Add site” to begin using your additional sites and the environments (development, staging, and production) within them.
For a complete guide, please see Adding and Deleting Sites and Environments.
Enabling Content Performance
When you add the Content Performance add-on to your plan, you will be able to configure Content Performance for any of your production environments on your sites. You can manage which sites have Content Performance enabled from the Intelligence menu, under Content Performance. Click each production environment in the list to go through the configuration steps. In the process you will install the Content Performance plugin on each production environment, and connect sites with the Google Analytics accounts tied to them.
Enabling Multisite
If you have added the Multisite add-on to your plan, you will be able to enable Multisite on a per-environment basis. Each environment can be converted to Multisite from the Sites tab. Select the site, then the environment you wish to convert to Multisite. Under Utilities in the left-hand navigation, click the Convert to Multisite radio button, then confirm by clicking Convert environment.
This will change your standard WordPress environment into a Multisite network, to manage multiple subsites. Learn more about Multisite and whether it’s right for you.
Enabling GeoTarget
The GeoTarget add-on, once purchased, is also enabled per-environment. You may use GeoTarget on any or all of your environments within your sites. GeoTarget is a feature which must be manually enabled by our Support team, and also requires you to download the plugin in the WordPress Admin Dashboard for each of your environments. Our GeoTarget guide will walk you through the full steps for enablement.
If you ever encounter questions, concerns, or issues when enabling an add-on you have purchased, please reach out to WP Engine Support, available via 24/7 live chat in your User Portal.
