Please note: The content in this article is intended for users on Startup, Growth, and Scale plans.
WP Engine offers many a la carte add-ons for your Startup, Growth, or Scale plan in the checkout and plan modification process. This guide will show you how to remove these add-ons from your Environments and from your WP Engine plan if needed.
Removing Additional Sites
If you added additional sites to your Startup, Growth, or Scale plan on signup, removing them from your plan will first require deleting the site(s).
First, navigate to the Sites tab and select the “…” option next to the site you would like to remove. Click Delete site and confirm the deletion by typing the site name. This will remove the site and all environments within it.
For a complete guide to adding and deleting sites, see Adding and Deleting Sites and Environments.
Once you have removed the sites you wish, please email [email protected] to request a plan change. Please include your name, Support PIN, and whether you would like annual or monthly recurrence for Billing in your email.
Removing Content Performance
The Content Performance add-on is a performance intelligence plugin used on your production environments. To remove Content Performance, first remove the plugin in your WordPress Admin Dashboard. Then open a live chat from your User Portal (available 24/7) to request removal of Content Performance from your plan. Please include your name, Support PIN, and whether you would like annual or monthly recurrence for Billing in your email.
Removing Multisite
Before the Multisite add-on can be removed from your plan, any sites or environments which are currently Multisites will need to be converted to standard WordPress environments. Please be aware that this process involves removing any existing subsites from the Multisite network, which is a destructive action. We highly encourage taking a backup of your Multisites, and then contacting our Support team via live chat in your User Portal for help converting to a standard WordPress Environment. If you are confident you do not need your subsites in your Multisite network any longer, you may use the “Convert to Single Site” option in your Utilities pane.
If you have not already, please contact Support via 24/7 live chat in your User Portal at this time. We will confirm there are no Multisite environments in use before sending a request to our Billing team for removal of the add-on from your plan.
Removing GeoTarget
GeoTarget is a feature that is enabled on our platform manually, in conjunction with the GeoTarget WordPress plugin. To remove GeoTarget, we first suggest taking backups of your environments in the User Portal.
- First, deactivate and remove the GeoTarget plugin from your WordPress Admin dashboard for each WordPress environment with the plugin installed.
- Second, reach out to our Support team via 24/7 live chat in your User Portal and request to disable GeoTarget for any environments it was initially enabled on.
- Last, let our Support team know you wish to remove GeoTarget from your plan and billing. Our Support team will gather your name, Support PIN, and preferred billing recurrence (monthly or annual) and create a removal request for our Billing team to process.
